Loungedelic formed in 2006 following a hot summer in the south of Italy.
Founding guitarist Pippo de Palma was attracted by the need to combine music and images; he initiated a project with childhood friends whilst touring Europe with psychedelic-groove band ALIX from Bologna-Italy (member since 1996). During those early years, ALIX performed in venues such as Paradiso, Amsterdam and ATP’s festival in the UK, opening for the likes of Muse, Primal Scream and Rage Against The Machine. Their last album “GOOD ONE”, was produced by STEVE ALBINI (NIRVANA, PJ HARVEY, PLANT and PAGE, and many more).
Loungedelic begun as a Jam-Band mixing up the passion for cinematic music, tex-mex and space rock, offering original tracks inspired by the likes of Portishead, Dick Dale, Morricone within a dynamic vision which continues to develop. Structureless, Loungedelic flows through improvisation, creating a mix of electric tunes with lounge, surf, psychedelic and blue rock sounds. Creating interaction with live video projections mixed with original performance.
“Relocated in London, Pippo gave a second life to the project with bass player and producer Tiago Dias from THE HOBOS and drummer and producer Nikolaj Bjerre from LAMB, YOUNGER BROTHER, IAN SIEGAL, Z STAR and visual artist Stefano Terranova aka Telenova who took Loungedelic’s live shows to a fully sensorial experience.
This new album is produced by GAUDI (with over 250 productions on his behalf and remixes for SIMPLE MINDS, BOB MARLEY, NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN, TRENTEMOLLER, LAMB, BALKAN BEAT BOX, DEEP FOREST, CAPAREZZA, SIZZLA, MICHAEL ROSE, ELISA, THE ORB and LEE SCRATCH PERRY to name just a few..), adding his unique artistic flair to the album, playing Theremin, Fender Rhodes, MiniMoog, ARP2600 modular synth, Korg MS20 and Arp Odyssey.”
The album was entirely written by Pippo de Palma except for the last track co-written by Tiago Dias, whom also recorded two of the album’s tracks.
The artwork accompanying the album has been entrusted to visual artist Telenova.
The debut album Horse Riding To Jupiter was produced by Gaudi at Metatron Studio, London and mastered by David Blackman at Hiltongrove Mastering Studio, London.
